Go On… Debit that Double Double!

Tim Hortons is joining the rest of the free world and accepting plastic at most of their 3,000 locations across Canada!

Ok, so yes, they finally started accepting credit a couple years ago (though only MasterCard), and of course their store brand cards, however debit cards will soon be an acceptable method of payment by the end of the month in 90% of their stores.

Tim’s resisted the move for many years, as they believed it would slow the ordering process, but it seems that the convenience of their customers and their desires for alternative payment options outweighed this worry.  Truthfully, I cannot believe that keying in your PIN would actually slow the process of getting one’s double double, but that’s just out little opinion.

In any case, we are happy that Tim’s has made this move, we think it was a sound business decision… we know we’ve had to walk out of a Tim’s after realizing we didn’t have a toonie to our name for our coffee, and that’s just silly, no?  Oh man, are we all craving coffee yet?!
