Why Read Miss Fortune?

So you’d much rather spend your time online looking at celebrities awkwardly getting out of their vehicles not showing their lady bits (wait, what, who does that?  Ok, we may have clicked on a few PHilton shots… come on Paris, throw on some undies!).  Or you’d rather be looking at fashion, makeup or other very girly, yet completely accurate assumptions… truth is, us too!

I guess what we’re trying to do is get a site going, where you can come, with no judgement, and try to understand how money works, what you could do to make that account grow, and also learn a little about the economy without trying to cry… don’t believe us… that’s our editor, crying…

So, read around the site, submit questions or comments you think will help us grow (and mature… but not too much, we kinda like being a little immature), and most importantly, learn a little about what the heck this dang economy is all about – and how it impacts us!  We can do it ladies… hands in…. annnnnd….. GO!

iPad: iWait

There is a delay in the international expansion of the iPad.  I know – some of you are like,

click, next article please, but I’m a nerd, and I’m a little disappointed.

I was in a meeting this week, and saw someone using one.  I full out stopped listening to anything that was being said in the meeting, and watched him play on the iPad.  At first, I had NO idea what he was using.  Was it a device for the projection screen?  A tiny flat laptop?  Wait – tiny flat laptop…

“Is that an iPad?” I whispered, not really quietly, and the meeting shifted focus to his toy.

“Yup” he said proudly, totally showing off that he was THAT cool.  And ugh, he totally was.  He had everything on that thing, was pulling up random emails so quickly and firing between sites, and dashboards… I literally was leaning over the table watching him breeze through the system, typing away.

So, I admit it.  I have a crush.  A crush on the iPad.

But – I’m probably not going to buy it in Canada.  Right now, the entry level iPad is $499.  Rogers announced today that they would be carrying the iPads (not sure why – I would have thought you would only get it through Apple stores), but if I know Canadian retailers – those puppy’s are going to be more expensive up here – despite the strong dollar.    Frustrating, but only a tiny bit.  We (most of us) live so close, within 4 hours, of the boarder, it would be easy to just skip over and pick one up at a (more) fair price.

Alas, I am not buying one just yet.  Maybe I’ll ask for one first Christmas, but for now, I am quite content simply crushing on the iPad.  Who loves ya iPad?  iDo!
